What do you get?

ALC 1.0 Self-Study offers you the opportunity to work through training materials at your own pace. It is a great option if you are looking to gain some additional tools or skills to use in your current work, without enrolling in the full, 6-month 1.0 Academic Life Coach Training Program.

With the self-study option, you will receive:

  • A hard copy of the Super Training Guide and three copies of the Academic Life Coaching Student Workbook
  • Access to an online class page with pdf versions of all texts from the full ALC 1.0 training program and 15+ hours of recorded class lectures

The self-study option does NOT include any of the business-building materials from the full, live training program.

How does it work?

Once you receive your materials, you are free to work through them at your own pace. There are no live class meetings or requirements for practice clients and mentor coaching sessions.

You are also eligible to order additional Academic Life Coaching Workbooks and use the Academic Life Coaching Program with students and coaching clients.

Please note that this self-study option is not part of any ICF-accredited training program, and the hours spent with the materials do not count towards certification with Academy of Coach Training or the International Coach Federation (ICF). If you are interested in pursuing certification, the full 1.0 Academic Life Coach Training Program may be a better fit for you.

What is the difference between self-study and the full 1.0 Academic Life Coach Training Program?

The self-study option provides you with access to the training materials from the full, live training program, and then allows you to work through them at your own pace. Self-study training hours DO NOT count toward Academy of Coach Training or International Coach Federation (ICF) certification, but training hours in the full ALC 1.0 Training Program do.

Who typically does the self-study option?

The self-study option is great for coaches who are already certified and may just want to gain more skills and tools to use specifically with students. Some people will also start out with the self-study option, and then decide to join a full training later on. You have the option of applying the cost of the self-study option to the full ALC 1.0 Training Program at any time.
